Let’s be real. Our healthcare system is not always set up to help people living with chronic illness, like IBS. And oftentimes, people fall through the cracks. Doctors don’t always have enough time to listen to someone’s story, the extent of their symptoms, and how those symptoms are impacting their quality of life. Not to mention discussing all the ins and outs of nutrition and lifestyle.
While working with a primary care doctor, gastroenterologist or other specialist is essential for a proper diagnosis and medication management, having a nutrition expert in your corner is also essential. That’s where I come in! You and I will work together to help you achieve your nutrition goals, resolve your symptoms, and improve your quality of life so that your main focus is no longer your medical condition, but instead your family, career, relationships, and your joy for life.
I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) who is passionate about health, food, and nutrition. I'm also a native Texan and have lived here my whole life (except for a brief stint in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia). I have a Master’s in clinical nutrition from UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. And aside from chasing my rambunctious toddler, I spend a good amount of time cooking, Netflixing with my husband, and doing yoga (I 10000% recommend taking up yoga no matter your health condition or level of physical fitness)!
My clinical areas of expertise are GI nutrition, oncology, and weight management, but my number one passion is working with IBS patients. Irritable bowel syndrome is the reason I became a dietitian, and I know just how frustrating it is to navigate the healthcare system with this invisible condition. I am here to help people resolve their symptoms and improve their quality of life.
Outside of IBS, I provide nutrition counseling for oncology, weight management, and other GI conditions, like GERD, IBD, celiac disease, SIBO, and pancreatitis, among others. I love connecting with people, so please reach out to learn more about nutrition services and packages available.
My practice is 100% virtual, and I am currently accepting new clients. Please give me a call or fill out the form at the bottom of the page to inquire about availability!
IBS is a complex condition, and symptoms are influenced by numerous diet and lifestyle factors. I received training on the Low Fodmap Diet from Monash University (the group who pioneered the diet) and can guide you through its complexity if this is the right therapy for you. If the Low Fodmap Diet is contraindicated for you, there are numerous other dietary and lifestyle approaches to help reduce symptoms.
Conditions treated with medical nutrition therapy:
We will work together to create a comprehensive plan that fits your health goals, whether your goal is weight gain or weight loss. Rather than focusing solely on calories and the number on the scale, we will take a holistic approach and focus on the quality of your diet to improve your health.
Types of cancer treated with medical nutrition therapy: pancreatic cancer and gastric cancer.
I am also passionate about helping cancer survivors (of any type) reduce the risk of recurrence.
